Here We Go
View Round the World in a larger map
Well, we've spent the past few years talking about making a Round the World trip, but during the past months we've actually made it a reality. We've set a rough itinerary for six months of travel, beginning with a sabbatical from our jobs and moving our belongings into storage in June. We'll then spend a week with family in Houston, Texas, and on July 3, 2011 begin our journey from Dallas via American Airlines. We'll visit Spain, Portugal, Prague, Germany (to visit family), Helsinki, Russia, Mongolia, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Australia, Fiji, Chile and Argentina before arriving back in Houston for Christmas.
We've set up this website for friends and family to follow along, but we'll also try to include general info for anyone considering a trip to the same places. A few selected photos will be included with our posts, but the majority of our images can be found on Flickr here. We are definitely getting excited... There were times when we thought this might not happen, when we felt we could probably do without it or when we though a 1-2 month trip would do just fine; however, after booking our tickets we both feel we've made the right decision. We're feeling quite giddy and very lucky.
